We are looking for an enthusiastic Engineering Technician to join our Engineering team and continue
developing towards a fully competent Shift Technician role.
This opportunity is ideally suited to someone who has already begun their engineering career,
whether through a previous apprenticeship, college qualification, military service, manufacturing
experience or an engineering-related role. You will already have some practical engineering
knowledge and be looking for an employer who can help you build on your existing skills and
progress further.
The successful candidate will receive structured on-the-job training, mentoring from experienced
engineers and where appropriate, support towards completing a recognised engineering
qualification. This is a development role rather than a traditional entry-level apprenticeship, so we
are looking for someone who can quickly become a productive member of the engineering team
while continuing to learn.

Duties:

Key Responsibilities;
 Provide engineering support to ensure the safe, reliable, and fault-free operation of plant
and equipment
 Assist with the installation, maintenance, testing, and repair of machinery and equipment
 Support fault diagnosis and problem-solving activities
 Identify and contribute to improvements in efficiency and cost-effectiveness
 Attend regular external training sessions and apply learned knowledge within the workplace
 Commit fully to personal development by engaging in all in-house and external training
opportunities
 Maintain strict adherence to all Health and Safety procedures and company standards
 When on Site and as required, undertake the Casting break cover clamping operator role
Monday – Friday (inclusive)

Working hours:

40 hours Monday to Friday

Skills and qualities:

Previous experience within an engineering or manufacturing environment is desirable.
 Basic understanding of mechanical and/or electrical engineering principles.
 Strong commitment to Health & Safety.
 Good problem-solving skills and willingness to learn.
 Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
 Desire to develop into a fully qualified Shift Technician.
 The role will initially be Monday to Friday during the training phase; however, as skills and
experience develop, shift working will gradually be introduced in line with the full Shift
Technician role requirements

Qualifications:

Must have grade 4 or above in maths and English GCSE or equivalent
